These days I scheduled future transactions meant for gifts (birthdays, weddings, Christmas, single mother’s day and father’s day, and so forth ) for 2021 and it produced me wonder — does anybody have a different approach to payees meant for gift items, besides literally where the present was purchased? For Christmas all of us always get my parents a eating place gift card. So I have the title of the restaurant as the payee using a memo “Parents Christmas 2020. inch In August I’ll give our cousin a cash wedding present, so I think she would be the payee, but then that feels inconsistent in my opinion and I’m not sure how helpful it is to show spending at a specific restaurant when it was just for a present. Should I have my parents as the payee for their Christmas gift, or maybe only a generic payee for all gifts? Might appreciate hearing how others deal with this!
